If I were to pick one doctrine in the Bible, and not teach it, that would be the doctrine of hell. But I could not but speak of the things I have seen and heard. Truth remains the same, hell is a real place. Jesus Christ preach more about hell than He did of heaven. He said, “And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.” Matt. 5:29, three times He said in Mark 9 “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” Rev. 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” The Bible is overwhelming with verses about hell and is existance but what is it for? It serves as a warning for people not to enter in such a horrible place.
Now is it reasonable for a loving God to create hell? The answer is YES, the fact that God is love, but He also a righteous God, a holy God, and good. Not creating hell would be a conflict to with His other nature. Think of it as this, would you allow Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and many other dictators who have ordered genocides and have takin millions of lives, and not get the judgement they deserve for hidous crimes they have done. If you say yes that would make you the same as God. God in His goodness would not allow evil to enter into heaven. If he did he’s a god devoid of righteousness and holiness and he is not the god of the Bible. The Doctrine of the hell is a reasonable doctrine and is the truth of the Word of God.
We deserve hell but God is love that He sent His only begotten Son. To give us a chance of forgiveness and not received that judgment that is due to us. Much like in movies where the bad guy gets what he deserves; we are the bad guys. But if given the chance to live. Hell is more real than any other place, and its fires burn for the everlasting and is never quenched. But God being rich in mercy gave us a chance to have everlasting life; that is only through the Lord Jesus Christ. He suffered the punishment that we deserve, and died so that we might live. Hell is the end result of sin; so is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will result into everlasting life in heaven.
